Insider Match connects candidates with current professionals for role specific career coaching. This page explains what we verify, why coaches may use an alias, what information candidates can see, and the limits of a coach's relationship with their employer.
This page should be read alongside our Candidate Terms and Conditions, Coach Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
1. What the Verified Insider badge means
A Verified Insider badge means that Insider Match has privately checked the coach's:
- Legal identity
- Current employer
- Current professional role
- Broad department, function or team
- Professional level
The badge confirms that these facts were checked by Insider Match at the date shown on the coach's profile.
The badge does not mean that the coach's employer has approved, sponsored or endorsed Insider Match or the coaching service.
It also does not mean that the coach has authority over recruitment decisions, can influence an application, or can provide a referral.
2. How coaches are verified
Before a coach can be listed, Insider Match reviews their application, relevant professional experience and suitability for the services they propose to offer.
Identity and current employment may be checked using one or more proportionate methods, such as:
- Confirmation through a current work email address
- Redacted employment evidence showing the information needed for verification
- A live verification call supported by appropriate evidence
We record the verification method and date privately. Verification evidence is not displayed to candidates and is not shared with other coaches.
A coach receives the Verified Insider badge only after the required checks have been completed and their public profile wording has been approved.
3. What candidates can see
A public coach profile may show:
- The coach's Insider Match alias
- Current firm, shown by name
- Current role
- Broad department, function or team
- Professional level or an approved level band
- Approved information about relevant experience and coaching focus
- Services offered, availability and prices
- The month and year of the most recent verification
The firm, role, department, level and profile wording are published only after the coach has reviewed and approved the exact wording. The firm and role are named so that candidates can judge fit, while the department or team is shown at a broad level rather than a narrow sub team.
Where appropriate, a coach may request a broader public description, such as Deals instead of a narrower team name, or a professional band instead of an exact internal grade. Insider Match will not publish wording that we believe is misleading.
4. What candidates cannot see
We do not normally publish a coach's:
- Legal name
- Photograph
- Personal or work email address
- Telephone number
- LinkedIn profile
- Verification documents or verification method
- Office location, narrow sub team, client details or other information that could unnecessarily identify them
- Payout, contractor or private availability information
Candidates will see a coach's bookable slots through the Cal.com booking page but not the coach's private calendar or events.
Candidates must not attempt to identify an anonymous coach, contact them outside the approved booking process, or pressure them to disclose private information.
5. Why coaches may use an alias
Many Insider Match coaches are current employees. Publicly advertising paid coaching under their legal name may create privacy, security or employment related concerns.
An alias allows a coach to share relevant professional experience without making unnecessary personal information public. It does not replace verification. Insider Match keeps the identity to alias record privately and separately from candidate facing profile information.
Anonymity protects the coach's identity. Verification gives candidates a reliable basis for assessing the coach's current professional background.
6. Re-verification and profile accuracy
Current employment is re-verified at least every six months.
Only verified current employees remain listed. If a coach leaves their firm, their profile is removed, or re-verified against their new role before it returns.
Coaches must tell Insider Match promptly if their employer, department, professional level, employment status or other material profile information changes.
We may request verification sooner where:
- Information appears to have changed
- A concern is raised about a profile
- Evidence becomes outdated or inconsistent
- We otherwise consider a further check appropriate
A coach's profile may be updated, temporarily paused or removed if re-verification is overdue, a material change has not been confirmed, or the information can no longer be verified.
The verification month on a profile shows when the most recent employment and role check was completed. It is not a guarantee that no change has occurred since that date.
7. Coaches act independently
Insider Match coaches provide coaching independently through the Insider Match platform.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- Coaches do not represent or speak on behalf of their employer
- Their employer is not a party to the coaching session
- Their employer does not sponsor, approve or endorse Insider Match
- Coaching takes place outside the coach's employment duties
- Views and guidance provided during a session are the coach's own professional opinions
Coaches must ensure that their work with Insider Match complies with their employment contract, internal policies, conflicts requirements and any approval obligations that apply to them.
Insider Match's verification of employment does not confirm that the coach has obtained any employer approval they may need. The coach remains responsible for that obligation.
8. No referrals, hiring influence or outcome guarantees
Insider Match is a career coaching platform, not a recruitment agency, employment business or referral marketplace.
Coaches must not sell, promise, imply or hint at:
- A referral or internal recommendation
- Access to a hiring manager or recruitment process
- Influence over an interview or hiring decision
- Preferential treatment from their employer
- A guaranteed interview, assessment centre invitation or job offer
A booking purchases the coaching service described on the website. It does not purchase access, influence, confidential information, recruitment representation or an employment outcome.
9. Confidentiality and employer information
Coaches must not use or disclose confidential information belonging to their employer, a client, a candidate or another third party.
Coaches must not:
- Share internal employer documents or systems
- Upload or distribute confidential interview materials
- Disclose live candidate, employee or client information from their firm
- Present internal material as Insider Match training content
- Use employer devices, systems, accounts or paid working time to prepare for or deliver sessions
- Record or transcribe a session; the only permitted AI assisted notes are the optional Google Meet Gemini summary, used with consent as described in the Candidate Terms and Coach Terms
Candidates must not ask a coach to disclose confidential information, current interview questions, internal documents, client information or restricted employer materials.
Coaches may discuss general professional experience, publicly available information, transferable principles and their own independent perspectives, provided they do not breach confidentiality or another legal or contractual obligation.
10. What verification does not guarantee
Verification reduces the risk of false or misleading professional profiles, but it is not a guarantee of:
- A particular coaching style or personal fit
- The accuracy of every opinion expressed during a session
- The coach's involvement in recruitment or interviewing
- The continued availability of the coach
- A specific application, interview or employment outcome
- Endorsement by the coach's employer
Insider Match separately reviews coach suitability, service quality and candidate feedback. We may pause or remove a coach where quality, conduct, reliability or verification concerns arise.
11. Reporting a concern
Please contact contact@insider-match.com if you believe that:
- A coach profile may be inaccurate or out of date
- A coach has claimed to represent their employer
- A coach has offered or implied a paid referral or hiring influence
- Confidential or inappropriate information has been shared
- Someone is attempting to identify, harass or contact an anonymous coach outside the platform
We may review the relevant profile, booking records, communications and verification information. Depending on the circumstances, we may correct or pause the profile, request further evidence, restrict access, or take other appropriate action.
12. Privacy and contact
Insider Match processes coach identity and verification information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We aim to collect and publish only the information reasonably needed to verify professional credibility, operate the service and protect users.
